5 Books I Need To Read This Summer

I love having a list books I can't wait to read when I have some free time. Here are five of the books I plan on reading this summer:

  5. Extras - Scott Westerfeld
'Extras' is a companion novel for the Uglies trilogy, by Scott Westerfeld. Uglies is set in a world where cosmetic surgery is compulsory the day you turn sixteen, giving everyone supermodel-like beauty. But not everyone thinks the operation is a good thing. Having recently finished the Uglies trilogy, I can't wait to read this book.

   4. Junk - Melvin Burgess
I read 'The Hit' by Melvin Burgess a few months ago, and I couldn't put it down. Although this isn't the sort of thing I would normally read, I loved it, so I'm looking forward to reading another book by this very talented author.

    3. An Abundance Of Katherines (and other books written by John Green) - John Green
Like many other teenagers who are even remotely interested in reading, I fell in love with The Fault In Our Stars. I'm planning on reading all of John Green's books. This one just caught my eye because of the title; I love the character Katherine Pierce from The Vampire Diaries, which is one of my favourite TV shows.

     2. The Bane Chronicles - Cassandra Clare
The Bane Chronicles are a series of ten short books that tell the backstory of the character Magnus Bane, a mysteries warlock who appears The Mortal Instruments. Magnus Bane is one of my favourite literacy characters so I can't wait to read these books, which promise to be funny in addition to being very well written.

     1. The True Lives Of My Chemical Romance: An Insightful Biography - Tom Bryant
My Chemical Romance, an alternative rock band from New Jersey, is my favourite band, so I can't wait to find out more about them from this biography, written by Kerrang! writer Tom Bryant.
