Following on from my last post, I've decided to write more traditional fairy tales with a twist. This is the first one, which I'll post in different parts as I'm working on it.
Okay, so you think you know the story of the three little pigs? You've heard it plenty of times when you were younger - right? But do you know the real story? The rough carpet scratching your legs as you sit cross legged in nursery; a soft, comforting quilt tucked under your chin and your mummy or daddy by your side. As a child you thought 'poor little pigs!' when you discovered how the terrible wolf had plagued them.
Have you ever considered, just for a moment, that the world famous fairy tale is a lie? Well, maybe it's time you did...
Before we start, please make sure there are no children present - I'd hate to ruin their illusions about the poor, victimized little pigs (ha!) and the wolf with the devil inside him. Okay...if you're sure (I did warn you)...I'll start (and if you're expecting one of those 'once upon a time...blah blah blah...happily ever after stories, stop reading now!)

Furious, harsh, unforgiving. The freezing cold wind attacked everything in sight, drawing blood with its sharp claws, just out of spite. Shivering in the icy winter air, a wolf stumbled slowly through the thick, menacing forest.

I bet you thought all fairy tales started when the sun was shining and everyone was smiling! You did, din't you? Well think again.

Tortured by the terrible conditions for days, the wolf was desperate to find shelter. Despite his thick, soft fur the rain, wind and snow attacked relentlessly. But luck was with him - a bright sun appeared and guided him to the perfect home...and guess what - he lived happily ever after!

You wish...
The wolf did find a house; but only after battling with the elements. And when he got there, it was far from perfect.
